About this Workshop
More students and adults are presenting with overlapping symptoms of inattention, impulsivity, anxiety, social skills deficits and difficulty expressing their feelings. Social anxiety and ASD symptoms have become more common, increasing from 1/2000 children to 1/30 children. Many individuals are seeking treatment significantly later in life (50-60s) and are undiagnosed with high functioning autism or combinations of ASD and ADHD (AudAdd).
This workshop will explain QEEG subtype patterns of ADHD & Autism; and how to integrative the QEEG patterns with other measures to clarify diagnoses and develop personalized biofeedback and neurofeedback treatment plans. QEEG and Neurofeedback research in these areas will be presented.
Treatment plans including HRV biofeedback, direct neurofeedback (stimulation), and QEEG guided neurofeedback for children, adolescents and adults with be discussed. The use of other measures (CPT tests, personality tests, rating scales) will be explained to assist in monitoring the results of training and changing protocols.
A live demonstration of combined biofeedback/neurofeedback will be done using several training screens. Applications of biofeedback and neurofeedback practical strategies for students and adults to maximize outcome application and generalization will be explained. Numerous case examples will be discussed as a group exercise. QEEG and biofeedback/neurofeedback research with ADHD and ASD will be reviewed.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Identify QEEG Subtypes of Neurodivergence/AuADD (ADHD and ASD).
2. Describe how to use QEEG and other testing results to select Biofeedback and Neurofeedback Protocols
3. Apply ways to monitor and demonstrate Neurofeedback Treatment Effectiveness
4. Discuss options for multi-modality treatment of ADHD and ASD
5. Identify research on QEEG and Neurofeedback for ADHD and ASD
