Workshop Title

Finding Your “Why” and the Psychophysiology of Congruency in Peak Performance

Workshop Description

This workshop explores the 5-component psychophysiology assessment and its connection to the Scale of Values (R. Dilts), offering an integrated approach to understanding how our physiological states and our performance are influenced by our internal value hierarchies and decision-making. By examining these 5-component process, we explore how to assess and train coherence between values and actions.

Scale of Values provides a structured approach to identifying and prioritizing values that shape behaviors and choices. By pairing this model with insights from psychophysiology, we reveal how values are not only cognitive but also deeply embodied, affected by physiological states that can be consciously influenced.

The 5 components explored are:
Stress assessment,
H-EEG,
pIR,
Computerized Capnograph,
Reaction time assessment (frontal-vagal network).

Participants will witness a practical exercise to recognize shifts in several patterns ( attention/ distraction; focusing/ de-focusing; breath; emotional arousal; anxiety), gaining skills to use breath as a tool for aligning with deeper motivations and cultivating more intentional responses.

This workshop is designed to be both informative and experiential, creating a space for self-reflection, group exploration, and guided practices. Some prior experience is suggested—together with an open mind and a willingness to gain new frameworks of practice.

Participants will leave with actionable insights to implement in their work in the field of optimal performance and a toolkit of breath-based practices for grounded, value-driven living.

Learning Objectives

1) Understand the psychophysiology of breath.
2) Identify and prioritize personal values using scale of values.
3) Develop awareness of breath and values connection.
4) Implement protocols for focusing/de-focusing, activation/de-activation.
