Giuseppe Sacco is a clinical and occupational psychologist, graduated in Psychology (clinical-applicative direction) from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” on 03.09.1978 with a score of 110cum laude. He obtained a four-year specialization in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy recognized by the MUR (Ministry of University and Scientific Research).
He is also specialized in “Psychosomatic Medicine”, in “Sexology”, “Social skills techniques, communication and affirmative training”, Relaxation techniques” (Autogenic Training, Jacobson), in Biofeedback and “Mindfulness and Neurosciences”.
He was a penitentiary educator for adults at the Ministry of Justice from 1983 to 1985, and an expert in psychology at the District Court of Appeal of Rome from 1987 to 1995.
From 1993 to 2011 he first collaborated at the Institute of Psychology and the School of Specialization in Clinical Psychology of the University of Siena and subsequently at the Department of Neurological and Behavioral Sciences of the same University as:
• Professor of General and Clinical Psychology and Psychological Interventions with the
Elderly and Clinical Supervisor
• Organizer and researcher of the Clinical Psychophysiology Laboratory
• Organizer and therapist of the Clinical Psychology Service
• Publishing activities
From 1985 to 2019 he was an expert in Psychology and organizational well-being, safety and work-related stress of personnel at the National Institute of Social Security (INPS), General Directorate, Rome.
He has carried out psychosocial interventions in primary and secondary schools with particular reference to programs for the prevention of risky behavior and intervention on psychopathological problems.
He has participated in experimental research programs in the field of Psychology and in intervention research programs in the field of problems of youth distress (bullying, aggression, social anxiety, etc.) and the modification of pernicious lifestyles (incorrect eating styles, tobacco and cigarette smoking addiction, sedentary habits, sleep hygiene, etc….).
He currently carries out private clinical activity, in particular treating Psychosomatic and Stress Disorders, Anxiety and Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders and relational problems.
He is a professor of the second level Master’s degree “Mindfulness and Neuroscience” at the University of Rome “Sapienza”; Teacher and supervisor of the Italian Association of Behavior Analysis and Modification and Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy (AIAMC) and member of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)-Italia, as well as of numerous National Schools of Psychotherapy recognized by the MUR (Ministry of University and Scientific Research). He is a member of the board of the Italian Society of Psychosocial Medicine (SIMPS), collaborates with the Biofeedback Federation of Europe (BFE) and is President and founder in 2006 of Libra Scientific Association, Rome, Center of Excellence recognized by the BFE (non-profit association, www.psicolibra.it).
He collaborated with the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
His participation in national and international congresses and conferences on psychology, psychotherapy, social sciences and psychosocial interventions has been going on for decades.
